Architecture Tour 2024

In order to provide students with insight into the progress of a city and university, as well as to strengthen the network between institutions, the Department of Architecture organized a visit for undergraduate/bachelor program and the students as well as lecturers to several neighboring countries and institutions. The first visit was made to the Department of Architecture, College of Design and Engineering, National University of Singapore (NUS). At NUS, students and lecturers undertook a guided tour of the campus, observing the facilities and ambience of existing net-zero energy buildings with a view to gaining insights into the principles of sustainability and well-being. Subsequently, the group proceeded to Melaka, Malaysia, to observe the existing tourist attractions and the manner in which the area is managed and arranged. The final visit was made to the Kulliyah of Architecture and Environmental Design (KAED) at the International Islamic University Malaysia. At KAED, presentations were made by each institution to ascertain the potential for future collaboration. It is hoped that these visits will expand the knowledge base of students and lecturers and enhance the network of existing institutional connections.
