Architecture Design III Field Survey

On August 27, 2026, students and lecturers from the Architecture Program conducted a field survey at the Sungai Kupah Mangrove Area in Kubu Raya as part of the Architecture Design III course. The group departed together from campus and traveled to the survey site. Upon arriving at Sungai Kupah, the survey focused on site measurements, observations, sketching, and documentation to collect factual information about the existing conditions. Data gathered included site dimensions, zoning, climate, natural and built features, circulation, utilities, and community activities. Sungai Kupah, located in the Sungai Kakap District of Kubu Raya, has a distinctive coastal character featuring rivers, estuaries, mangrove vegetation, and community activities connected to the coastal environment. This field survey provided students with valuable hands-on experience in understanding and interpreting real site conditions, serving as a foundation for developing their architectural design proposals, especially for site analysis.
